At openICT, information security and privacy have always been of paramount concern. The data that we are trusted to process represents an array of information that belongs to others. It is our duty to ensure that it is handled with care and respect for those individuals and their rights.

The systems openICT employs to transfer, store and manage data follow a rigorous and tested security plan. Where ever possible client systems are utilised to conduct our work, meaning that data never transfers out of their domain. As a client of openICT those same systems undergo security reviews in order to meet a high degree of technical and physical security, using the most appropriate technologies to safeguard data.

If data is transferred to our systems, strict measures are in place to manage it’s security and integrity. All data is encrypted, both at rest and in transit. Wherever appropriate it is anonymised. Our systems are hardened against attack using a variety of measures including, but not limited to:

  • Network, disk and file encryption using AES/Blowfish and 256 bit SSL certificates

  • Firewalls

  • Anti-virus

  • Backups

  • Audit logging and monitoring

  • Network security scans

  • Intrusion Detection Systems


The use of third party processors is restricted to Google’s G Suite. This services holds a wide variety of security certifications. G Suite adheres to UK, and EU regulations through the use of model clause contracts, ISO standards compliant systems and independant security certifications.
